How I became a scientist
As a kid, I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world. I always wanted to inspire others and in return be inspired to do more. However, science did not come easy for me and I struggled throughout high school since I was limited to what I read in textbooks. This all changed when I went to college. I had an excellent mentor who encouraged, challenged, and inspired me by throwing away the boring textbooks and showing me everyday science through demonstrations and historic anecdotes. From the day he told me “put away the textbook”, I developed a genuine love for Chemistry and never looked back.
